Adaptivity and personalization technologies appear not to be very much used in eparticipation projects to date. These technologies are commonly used to overcome the overflow of information and service providers adopt them in order to acquire a better knowledge of their end-users and optimize their service offerings. In this paper we investigate the potential of adaptivity and personalization principles and technologies when applied to the eParticipation field and more specifically, to eParticipation websites. Potential application scenarios of these technologies in the context of policy engagement and active participation of citizens in democratic decision-making are defined and their impact in eParticipation is examined.
